Artist Bio

Andrea C. Gilson is a multidisciplinary artist based in Katy, Texas with experience in painting, education, and human movement science. Andrea was born in Caracas, Venezuela and immigrated to the United States with her mom, dad, and younger brother when she was 8 years old. Creativity has been a constant method for Andrea to study her perception of past experiences. From becoming a professional flamenco dancer, to earning a masters degree in human movement, and eventually entering the digital art world; she has utilized her methods of self-expression to invoke excitement in others to explore their realities.

Andrea received her Master of Science in Kinesiology - Biomechanics from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi. During her time there, she used painting as a therapeutic exercise and learned the power of daily practice. She involved herself as a digital creator and creative director alongside the completion of her thesis in plantar health. Andrea learned to manage the complete design process from a researched perspective and yearned to practice both science and art simultaneously.

Upon graduating she moved back to her home state, Texas, to begin a project with her woodworking grandfather in 2018. Before his passing, they built a pet portrait business which began as My Dog Chipi. Now called Arte de Ea, she has expanded her brand into acrylic paintings, murals, digital storytelling, lucite jewelry design, and live online philanthropy events. Andrea has exhibited artworks throughout Texas, danced around the world, presented research at conferences, and continues to give back to the community that helped her emerge as an artist.
